Nursery school Hetea

About fourty clay huts, divided into three streets, make up the village of Hetea, a small Roma village, located north of the city of Braşov in the centre of Romania.
In this village live the poorest people of Romania. Most of the houses contain just one room. There is hardly any furniture, mostly just two wooden beds. Normally several people sleep in a single bed. There is no running water, and the hygiene conditions are terrible. This unhealthy environment makes the people sick. The food they eat is one-sided and most children just receive one meal a day.
In 1991, Eastern European Outreach started to help the children of this village. At the moment, the mission is supporting a Christian nursery school and a learning farm. Every day the children receive a proper meal. By educating the children, they have hope for a better future and learn basic skills, which are needed to enter the primary school.
The school is also a place where the children feel safe, a place of love and protection, a place where they are respected for who they are. The desire of the teachers is that the children will accept Jesus as their Saviour. They share the Gospel, and put it into practice.
